JAMMU, July 23: In a major success in the ETT scam, the Crime Branch, Jammu today arrested former Secretary of Board of School Education (BOSE), Bashir Ahmad Dar when he was trying to flee to Srinagar and booked him in the FIR already registered in the scam.
When contacted, SSP Crime Branch, Jammu, Mubassir Latifi confirmed the arrest of Dar, who was mastermind in allotment of the ETT colleges in 2003 without adhering to any rules, regulations and norms.
Dar, a resident of Killora, Shopian was presently putting up in Srinagar and was trying to flee from Jammu when the Crime Branch sleuths nabbed him.
Sources said Dar had allotted the ETT colleges at his own whims and fancies and not sticking to any rules and regulations.
“The ETT colleges had been allotted merely on applications without verifying requisite infrastructure,” sources said, adding some more arrests were on the cards after scrutiny of the record of more institutions.
Meanwhile, Sudershan Kumar Mahajan and Manish Suri, owners of two ETT colleges, already arrested by the Crime Branch Jammu in the scam, were today sent to the Central Jail.
