JAMMU, Aug 29: On the occasion of National Sports Day organized every year on the birthday of the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, a sports meet was organized today by the Shiva Roller Skating Institute, Peerkho in which the exhibition match was played among the players of Shiva Roller Skating Institute, Peerkho, players of M.A. Stadium and J.M.P.S.
The match was organized by Indiana Roller Skating Club under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association.
On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi, senior BJP leader was the chief guest on the occasion and Pankaj Magotra, Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Appeals, Jammu was the guest of honour who has distributed prizes among the players to encourage them and educated them about the importance of sports.
G S Khurmi, president, J&K Roller Skating Association, on the occasion urged the players to inculcate the spirit of sportsman as the legend Major Dhyan Chand was having and should follow the path shown by the hockey legend.
P P Singh, coach officiating the match and Jatinder Sharma and Jasmeet Singh headed the technical table.
