KATRA, June 16: In the series of lectures organized by School of Physics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Padmashree Prof. K.L. Chopra, ex-Director IIT Kharagpur delivered two lectures entitled “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology” and “Nurturing Innovations and Entrepreneurship in R&D for Academia” today at SMVDU.
While the former lecture covered various aspects of the fundamentals of nano-science and technology, need for innovations and challenges for entrepreneurs in research and development were emphasized in the latter.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. S.K. Jain, vice-chancellor SMVDU who is also a well-known expert in the field of entrepreneurship. Both the lectures were attended by students and faculty members from across the disciplines of science, engineering, economics and management. In his address, Prof. Chopra emphasized the need for shifting to “make in India” efforts rather than the present endeavors focused at “make for India.”
