Srinagar, Aug 9: State Government has constituted an expert committee to look into the issue of burden of heavy school bags on students and asked it to submit its report within two months.
According to Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Farooq Ahmad Shah, “the Department in order to place a comprehensive mechanism and to take all possible measures to help reduce the weight of school bags and other aspects of the representation has decided that an expert committee shall be constituted comprising members having expertise in the field”.
The experts include in the committee are Naseema Lankar, ex-Commissioner/Secretary School Education Department, Prof A.G. Madhosh, former Head of the Department, Department of Commerce, University of Kashmir, Prof (Dr) Nusrat Andrabi, former Principal and Member of Indian Red Cross Society, Prof Abdul Jabbar, former Principal Government Degree College Bemina and Prof Veena Pandita, Secretary J&K State Board of School Education.
