JAMMU, Dec 21: Extramarks Education hosted the “Schools of Tomorrow” conclave in Jammu, gathering top educators and policymakers to discuss the future of education, focusing on technology and the National Education Policy (NEP). The event was inaugurated by Ashok Kumar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, who stressed the importance of teacher upskilling, effective use of technology, and implementing NEP-driven reforms.
He also supported the idea of bag less days for middle school students. Rakesh Magotra, Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, highlighted inclusive learning, resource optimization, and the role of public-private partnerships in education. Poonam Singh Jamwal, Chief Business Officer of Extramarks, emphasized the need for transitioning all schools in Jammu and Kashmir to digital ecosystems to ensure quality education reaches even the remotest areas. She also spoke about the role of education innovators like Extramarks, whose NEP-aligned digital content can drive this change.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Ritu Singh discussed integrating STEM and creativity through technology, and Gitanjali JB, Founder of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh, who spoke about sustainable learning practices. The event also featured a panel discussion with prominent educators, reinforcing the vision of a future-ready education system in Jammu and Kashmir.
