JAMMU, Sept 5: Vigilance Organization, Jammu today presented the challan against the then six employees of Government Joinery Mill in a case of fake adjustment of bills for different purchase and repair works during the period 2005-2006.
The case FIR No 11/2008 under sections 420/467/468/471/120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 was registered after a Joint Surprise Check by VOJ, during which some vouchers were seized and verified from the concerned firms and found that the same had not been issued by them. It was prima facie established that the vouchers had been prepared fraudulently by the accused in connivance with the employees of the Mill.
During the investigation, it was established that fake bills were submitted by the officers/officials of Government Joinery Mill Bari Brahmana, Jammu for an amount of Rs 1, 01,281/- without purchase/execution of works and the same were adjusted by the Manager Government Joinery Mill with criminal conspiracy of Purchase Committee and other staff members had accepted/adjusted the temporary advances.
Accordingly, after the conclusion of the investigation, challan against the then officers/officials namely Ashok Gupta of Dogra Hall, Jammu (then Assistant Manager Govt Joinery Mill Bari Brahmana, Jammu), Suraj Mani of village, Kalyanpur, Tehsil Marh, district Jammu (then posted as Incharge Purchase and Procurement and Purchase Committee member -now retired), B R Atri of village Badheri, Samba (then Supervisor and now retired), Rattan Lal of Raipur Gurjan, R S Pura (then Supervisor), Keshav Singh of Keli Mandi, Samba (then S K Operator and now retired), Baldev Raj of village Salehar, Tehsil Bishnah (then Supervisor and now retired) was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu.
