POONCH, Oct 21: The 88th Battalion of BSF organized a programme at Khanetar where family members of BSF martyrs, belonging to Poonch area were felicitated.
The event was part of Golden Jubilee celebration of BSF raising. BSF was raised, as an Armed Force of the Union of India, on 1st Dec’1965.
Five martyrs of Surankot, Poonch & Khanetar were remembered and their kin facilitated. Event was attended by Sarpanch of Khanetar village & locals, besides a number of retired local BSF veterans.
Meanwhile, 88 Bn BSF today organized a Kissan Mela in association with Agriculture department Poonch, at Khanetar village.
During the event farmers were given a talk about green house farming and its benefit to generate income. Commandant 88 Bn BSF Sudeep Kumar & Chief Agriculture Officer Poonch distributed vegetable seedlings and vegetable seeds to farmers of Khanetar and nearby villages. This is a new initiative of BSF, on the BSF Golden Jubilee year, where besides conducting various programmes for direct benefit of students & youths, farmers have been addressed. Local farmers have lauded this work of BSF.
