Farooq Khan vows to act as ambassador of J&K

JAMMU, Aug 27: Senior BJP leader and newly appointed Administrator of Lakshadweep Islands, Farooq Khan today said that he will act as ambassador of the J&K state and bridge the gaps between the North and the South.
Speaking at a function organised by Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Chamber House here today, Farooq Khan expressed his desire to act as an ambassador of the J&K State while serving in Lakshadweep Islands and also bridge the gap between North and South region of India.
Speaker J&K Asembly, Kavider Gupta also graced the occasion and recalled the services of Mr Khan as a senior police officer and also in the party.
Rakesh Gupta, president Jammu Chamber while speaking on the occasion highlighted the glorious service record of Mr Khan. He said that due to the joint efforts of him as head of SOG in Kashmir, he almost wiped out militancy during his period.
Several prominent persons and retired bureaucrats/ officers attended the function. They included Dr Ashok Bhan, Prem Gupta, K B Jandial, Qayoom Manhas, Ashok Gupta, Ravinder Kotwal and Ramesh Koul besides others.
