Fast track development of far flung areas Govt’s priority: Sukhnandan

RAJOURI, Dec 31: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sukhnandhan Kumar today said that fast track development of far flung areas is Government priority and all efforts are being made to ensure development of sectors like road communication, health, education, water and power supply in these areas.
The Minister was speaking at a public meeting at Chingus Samkhar, Rajouri here.
A large number of people  from Chingus Samkhar  and adjoining  villages participated in the meeting and raised issues related to water supply, power supply and road connectivity.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli, MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina, MLC, Vibodh Gupta and  DC Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat were present in the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhnandhan Kumar said that directions have been passed to formulate an exclusive water supply scheme for the people of the area, so that the problem of drinking water is addressed at the earliest
Responding to the demand of restoration of damaged water pipes in recent floods, the Minister directed XEn PHE to provide required pipes immediately.
He further added development of far flung areas can be achieved only with the cooperation of people and asked people to come forward and monitor the various developmental works.
The Minister took serious note of illegal construction of flour mills at Dalogra Saranoo and asked DDC to take strict action against those people who were involved in the construction.
In his address to the people, Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli assured the people that demands highlighted by them will be given due consideration and fulfilled at the earliest. He said Government is committed to extend and improve basic amenities to the people besides top priority is being given to road connectivity, transport, power and water supply.
