Fast unto death stir at Budhal enters 5th day, 2 hospitalized

JAMMU, Feb 6:  While the indefinite protest dharna and fast unto death at Budhal entered 5th consecutive day today, the people from Dharamsal, Devak, Doongi in Rajouri and Chandak in  Poonch have also launched indefinite protest against Omar led Government demanding Tehsil status for their respective areas.
Reports from Rajouri said that in Budhal the condition of  two persons sitting on fast unto death worsened and they were shifted to District Hospital Rajouri.  The people are sitting on fast unto death strike there. Today Manzoor Malik and Naib Sarpanch Jalal Din had to be hospitalized in Rajouri as their  condition deteriorated. They had refused to take treatment yesterday also. The people kept bazaar closed and vehicles were not allowed to ply on the road. All the establishments were closed in view of  protest.
The people took out a protest rally in Budhal town and then they sat on protest dharna at the venue where people are sitting on fast-unto-death. Despite rain and snowfall the protest and dharna continued. These people strongly criticized the NC and Congress leadership for doing most injustice with the people of Budhal area. They warned to shift their protest dharna in front of the office of DC Rajouri and if needed at the house of  Chief Minister shortly.
The people from Budhal also held protest at the main  gate of Rajouri Hospital when both the agitators were removed today. They kept both the patients on trolleys at the main gate and started protest. Later, DC Rajouri,  AC Revenue  and ASP reached there. He persuaded and claimed that their concern has been conveyed to the Government and the final decision has to be taken at the highest level. The agitators raised slogans against DC, Rajouri, local MLA, MP, MoS Health Shabir Khan, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, DyCM and members of CSC on administrative units.
Meanwhile, the people from  Dharamsal area of Kalakote have also launched fast unto death. About 20 person have gone on fast. They have launched indefinite dharna.  They staged  strong protest demonstration and demanded tehsil status for Dharamsal. They alleged that Government has not done justice with the area. The people raised slogans against local MLA, MP  and even the Chief Minister and PCC president. They warned to intensify their agitation if the Government failed to address their demand within four days.
The people from Doongi block of  Rajouri accompanied by Sarpanchs and Panchs have also launched indefinite protest dharna while people from Devak blocked Jammu-Poonch highway at Sunderbani for two hours today. They were also demanding block or Tehsil status for Devak area which is about 25 kms from tehsil headquarters Sunderbani. People from different parties including PDP, NC, BJP etc joined hands and blocked road at around 12 noon. They continued their protest up to 2 pm. Later, SDM Nowshera Deepti Uppal reached there and claimed that she would take up the issue with higher authorities. The people then lifted dharna with her intervention and returned to their village.
At Ghordi in district Udhampur, the people continued their protest dharna even today. They are demanding Tehsil status for Ghordi block. The villagers including several Sarpanchs  and Panchs besides local political leaders irrespective of their party affiliation joined hands together.
At Chandak in Poonch, the people today blocked Jammu-Poonch highway and started protest demonstration. They were demanding tehsil or block status for Chandak. They were raising slogans against Omar Abdullah, DyCM Tara Chand,  Congress president, local MLA and MP Madan Lal. The vehicular traffic remained suspended for over three and half hours and later restored with the intervention of CR Revenue. NC, Congress and PDP leaders of the area were leading the protest.   A large number of vehicles remained stranded on the busy highway.
