RAMBAN, Sept 9: A father and his minor son were killed while two others including mother and her minor daughter were injured when a car plunged into a gorge at Dharma on a link road in Rajgarh-Kastigarh area.
Police sources said in a car accident on a link road in the Dharma area of Rajgargh, two members of a family including a minor boy died whereas two family members including a mother and her minor daughter sustained critical injuries.
They said the car bearing registration JK02AB-3231 was on its way to Rajgarh from Kashtigarh when it went out of control of its driver and plunged into a deep gorge. They said one person died on the spot whereas a minor boy succumbed to injuries and died at District Hospital Ramban.
Hospital authorities identified the deceased as Pritam Lal and his 11-year-old son Nitesh Kumar. They said among the two injured, wife of deceased Pritam Lal, Gur Dai (30) and her minor daughter Sandhya Devi (9) received critical injuries and both were admitted at District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam confirmed the incident and said the two persons lost their lives whereas two others sustained injuries in the mishap.
MS District Hospital Ramban, Dr Virender Trishala said the condition of both the injured (mother and her daughter) is out of danger and both are responding to the treatment.
“Two bodies were kept in the mortuary of the Hospital,” he said, adding, bodies would be handed over to the legal heirs after conducting a postmortem on Sunday morning.
