JAMMU, July 19: Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Thathi Club by 19 runs in a thrilling match today at Akhnoor.
Batting first FCC scored 89 for the loss of 10 wickets in the stipulated 15 over. Amit Singh scored highest 44 runs for his team while Koushal scored 14 runs. For Thathi Warriors, Anil took four wickets while Shottu and Martin claimed three wickets each.
In reply, Thathi Warriors failed to chase the target and bundled out on 70 runs in 16.0 overs. Shottu made highest 25 runs while Rahul scored 18 runs. For FCC, Amit Singh was wrecker in chief, who took 4 wickets while Ankit, Sumit and Arun clinched 3, 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
Amit Singh was declared as ‘Man of Match’ for his splendid performance with ball. The match was officiated by Atul Sharma and Sunil Govil as umpires while Raman Sharma acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (Chairman, Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee), whereas the tournament was inaugurated by Ankush Sharma (Youth leader BJYM) in presence of Deepesh Singh (Ex-chairman MC Akhnoor) and Rakesh Malhotra, Councillor W.No 6 of MC Akhnoor.
