JAMMU, Apr 4: A T20 Knockout Cricket tournament organised by Range Police Headquarters Jammu concluded at Jammu University, here today.
Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor (FCCA) won the trophy by defeating Diamond Cricket Club Simbal by six wickets in the final match. Bhanu Gupta was named as Man of the Match after taking one wicket and scoring 48 runs.
Jammu and Kashmir Police organised the tournament under Civic Action Programme 2023-24 under the guidance & directions of DIG Jammu, Samba and Kathua Range, Dr Sunil Gupta and overall supervision of SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch (SSP).
Before the final match, a friendly cricket match was also played between RPHQ Jammu-XI and Brothers Cricket Club-XI at Jammu University Cricket Ground, in which Brothers XI won the match.
SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP welcomed the chief guest DIG Jammu, Samba and Kathua Range, Dr Sunil Gupta and Special Guest Director Sports & Physical Education Jammu University, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba.
The DIG said that such type of events may strengthen the Police and Public relations and youth should take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs and bad company.
Chief Guest DIG JSK Range Dr Sunil Gupta, Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, SP South Jammu Ajay Sharma and DySP RPHQ Jatinder Singh felicitated the winning team as well as runner up team with trophies and cash prize of Rs 10,000 to winning team and Rs 7000 to runner up team while Rs 3500 was given to Man of the Series player and cash prize of Rs 1500 given to Man of the Match winner.
