FC&MIA raises demands

JAMMU, Oct 4: J&K Forest Contractors & MFP Industrial Association (FC&MIA) here today organized a meeting under the chairmanship of Sanjay Gupta, Association president.
Speakers in the meeting asked the concerned authorities that till the new policy for extraction and collection of forest products is finalized, the MFP contactors and industrial units established to process non-timber forest products should be allowed to carry on their business.
They said that while framing the policy it should be kept in mind that livelihood of MFP contractors and industrial units to process non-timber forest products should not be affected.
They also demanded that the outstanding royalty paid by the contractors/unit holders to the Forest Department pending shall be refunded.
The meeting was attended by Manohar Lal Bhagat, Raja Bashir Ahmad, Shiv Kapoor and others.
