JAMMU, Dec 22: Ace Fencer Vansh Mahajan has advocated for the inclusion of Sports Science and Sports Medicine Department for Jammu University and Jammu Medical College.
In a statement issued here, he appealed the Governor of J&K to include the same in JU as the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has selected five institutions for setting up Sports Science and Sports Medicine Departments in the country.
The universities which have been identified from the 2018 academic session include Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Lakshmibai Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, Varadhaman Medical College and Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi and King Georage Medical University, Lucknow.

International Fencer Vansh Mahajan feels the new tie-up between the ministry and medical universities in India will be a step in the right direction.
