Jammu, Nov 18: Vying for the top honours, the fencers left no stone unturned and displayed their skill and talent in the 3-day 12th J&K Open State Amateur Championship on day-2 at Government Degree College Billawar, today.
In sabre Under-12 boys individual, Mayank Sharma of Kathua bagged gold, Naman Bakshi of Jammu clinched silver, while the bronze medals went to Balbir Singh of Ramban and Poorvak Suri Jammu.
In foil Under-12 girls individual, Ananya Mahajan of Jammu clinched gold, Shriya Gupta of Jammu bagged silver, while Rifat Parveen of Reasi and Rahina Kouser of Reasi won bronze medals.
In foil Under-14 boys individual, Saksham Gadyal of Jammu claimed gold, Mohd Anees of Udhampur won silver, while Rabnawaz of Jammu and Mohir of Udhampur claimed bronze.
In foil Under-14 girls individual, Rishika Spolia of Kathua won gold, Anshika Bandral of Reasi got silver, while Riya Manhas of Reasi and Sakshi Sharma of Kathua calimed bronze.
In foil open girls individual, Anchal Dogra of Jammu won gold, Shreya Chib of Jammu bagged silver and Himani Rajput of Reasi got bronze.
A prize distribution function was held in which Er Deep Raj, SDM Billawar was the chief guest and Dr B L Gupta, Principal of GDC Billawar presided over.
In all, the position holders were awarded 6 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze medals.
While speaking on the occasion, SDM Billawar lauded the participants and thanked the organizers for holding the event in remote area.
Ranchan Sabharwal, Chottu Lal and Vishal acted as referees.
