Fencers selected for upcoming championships

JAMMU, Feb 22: The Adhoc Committee of J&K Fencing Association selected fencers for upcoming championships including top Sabre fencer of J&K Vansh Mahajan at Fencing Arena MA Stadium, here today
The top Sabre fencers Vansh Mahajan has made a comeback on the piste after facing hardships due to an injury caused during the world universities games in the month of July 2019 at Italy.
Other two top ranked fencers, Vishal Thapar and Javed Ahmed Choudhary have already been shortlisted.
In junior boys foil, Gourav Thakur, Tanish Mahajan, Prashant Chib and Praney Singh were selected, whereas in epee, Sawan Mangotra, Ajay, Shivansh Kapoor and Sufian were shortlisted and in sabre category, Lakshya Sharma, Mayank Sharma, Suryansh Sharma and Amit Chib has been selected.
For girls foil, Ashu Rani, Mansi Sharma, Simran Anand and Anshika Bandral, for epee Twinkal Gupta, Raghi Verma, Riya Manhas and Gyan Kour and for sabre Shreya Gupta, Kritharti, Malvi Arora and Anant Samakshi were selected.
In sub-junior under-14 boys, Rakshit Sharma, Arya Veer, Kamash Kesari and Ram Paul were selected for foil, whereas in epee, Sohang Gupta, Said Ur Rehman, Rinku Mahajan and Sayam Sharma were shortlisted and for sabre, Pratyaksh Gupta, Dewansh Sharma, Rishav Gupta and Vinayak Sharma have been selected.
In girls, Shubhanya Sharma, Myra Rajput, Stuti Mathur, Shreya Sharma, Anima Sharma, Kalash Jamwal, Sanwari Rajput, Suhana, Vaibhavi Abrol, Kavya Rajput, Akshra Kumari and Ragini Verma have been shortlisted for foil, epee and sabre categories.
