JAMMU, Feb 18: The ace fencers of J&K-UT Shreya Gupta along with first timer Chhavi Sharma are going to participate in the upcoming Asian Fencing Championship being held at Manama, Bahrain from February 16 to 25, 2024.
As per statement Shreya has qualified for this prestigious tournament on the basis of her 1st ranking being gold medallist in 31st junior National Championship held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh earlier this year whereas Chhavi secured place in this event by securing bronze in 18th cadet national championship in Gujarat.
Pertinent to mention here that Shreya Gupta has already won a bronze medal in the Asian Championship held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Both the fencers attended India camp for preparation of this tournament at Pune under the supervision of prominent coaches, the statement further added.
