RAMBAN, Sept 14: The District Fencing Association Ramban, in collaboration with the J&K Fencing Association (JKFA), conducted the 6th District Fencing Championship at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Banihal. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 boys and girls from various Government and Private schools across District Ramban, reflecting a growing interest in fencing among young athletes.
In the U-12 Boys category, Abu Azim clinched the gold, while Zeeshan took silver and Rasiq Ahmed and Azan Ahmed both secured bronze. The U14 Boys saw Muneeb Sohil win gold, Ahmed Saood earn silver and Mohsin Liyakat and Mohzaib Ahmed taking bronze. For the U17 Boys, Imran Ahmed won gold, Tofeeq Fayaz took silver, and Babar Ahmed and Muneeb Ahmed secured bronze.
In the U-20 Boys events, Saaid Ur Rehman won gold in the Epee category with Mehjoor Ahmed taking silver. Raquib Yousuf earned gold in the Sabre category, and Faizan Sohil won silver. Anzar Fayaz clinched the gold in the Foil category, with Rashid Naseer taking silver. In the U-17 Girls Epee, Apsha won gold, Afreen took silver, and Adeeba Sohil and Nazima Rehman both secured bronze.
The championship was honoured by the presence of Manzoor Ahmed, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Chamalwas, as the chief guest and Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Banihal, as the guest of honour.
