Srinagar, May 25: The fruit growers in South Kashmir’s Shopian today said that the fertilizer dealers are openly violating the sale terms of the Government and are selling the fertilizer at exorbitant rates.
As per rates set by the Government, the dealers have to sell IPL DAP for Rs 1200, however, the same is being sold at different rates to the growers who are appealing the administration to act on it.
The growers said that the company named IPL has looted the farmers by selling them DAP Fertilizer at unreasonable rates ranging from Rs 1200 to Rs 1900.
“The company is openly violating the Government rates and the administration has got no control over such elements,” the Fruit Growers Association as well as Trade Association, Shopian said.
They said that the administration has not taken any step to control such open loots being carried out in broad daylight. “It is not only the variation of rates but a violation of the Govt orders as per which one DAP bag must be sold at Rs1200 only,” the Fruit Growers Association, President, Ashraf Wani said.
Chairman Trade Association, Shopian Riyaz Ahmad Mantoo also called it an ultimate failure of the administration while stating that it has failed in providing any relief to the farmers.
Meanwhile, the farmers have appealed to the Government to constitute a committee in this regard and refund their extra paid money.
