JAMMU, Sept 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association is organizing All India Level FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in Kashmir from October 3 to October 6, 2013.
It will be for the first time in J&K’s chess history that a National Level Chess Tournament will be held in the Valley, in which over 100 players from 17 State’s of India are expected to take part.
According to an official handout issued by Atul Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association and joint secretary All India Chess Federation, the event is recognized by All India Chess Federation and World Chess Federation.
He said that Debashish Barua of West Bengal, an International Arbiter will be the chief Arbiter of the event.
