SRINAGAR Mar 22: High Court has directed the Health Department to fill up the post of Director Indian System of Medicines (ISM) within three weeks.
The High Court while disposing off writ petition of Dr Anil Gupta directed the Commissioner/ Secretary Health and Medical Education to consider the representation made by Dr Gupta within three weeks.
“In view of submissions made by learned council for the parties and as agreed to by them, the writ petition is disposed off with a direction to the respondent namely Commissioner/ Secretary HME Department Civil Secretariat Jammu to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner by a speaking order within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of the certified copy of the order passed today”, the HC order read.
Dr Gupta had sought directions from the court for filling up of the post of Director ISM which is lying vacant for last two months in accordance with J&K Indian Systems of Medicine (gazette) Service recruitment rules 2006.
“When the matter was taken up today learned council for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is holding post of A grade Physician Specialist Ayurveda and is only eligible candidate for appointment to the post in question and the written petition be disposed off within a direction to the respondent i.e. Commissioner/ Secretary HME department Civil Secretariat Jammu to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner by speaking order in accordance with law within a specific time limit”, the order read.
