JAMMU, Jan 8: Wife of billiards marker, who was electrocuted to death at MA Stadium more than one and half years back, has finally received justice with Minister for Sports clearing her case for compassionate appointment after relaxing the rules.
The marker Surjeet Singh Baloria, an employee of the J&K State Sports Council, was electrocuted to death on June 22, 2015 inside the MA Stadium. Though his wife made all out efforts to get compassionate appointment but because of her overage she could not be considered for the job.
The grievance of deceased employee’s wife was highlighted by EXCELSIOR a number of times following which Secretary of the Sports Council Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra wrote a letter to the Sports Minister mentioning that deceased employee’s wife can be given job under SRO-43 only in relaxation of rules keeping in view her overage.
After one and half year the wife of deceased billiards marker has finally received the justice with Minister for Sports Imran Raza Ansari relaxing the rules to ensure her appointment under SRO-43.
“Secretary Sports Council will hand over appointment letter to her within next few days”, said Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Council, adding she will be posted in Indoor Complex at MA Stadium.
