MENDHAR, Mar 7: Police has registered an FIR against Superintendent of an Examination Centre at Govt Higher Secondary School, Harni and three others for allegedly beating up of a Police Constable on duty.
Reports said that FIR was lodged with the intervention of local court as the SHO Gursai merely assured the cop on duty to look into the case. The incident took place in the premises of Harni Govt School on Thursday when English paper of the 12th Class was going on. Constable Shahid Ahmed restricted the movement of the outsiders to the exam hall. One Tanveer Ahmed, son of Mohd Nassir (HC), resident of Kandi Galuta was moving towards the hall during exam. The constable on duty stopped him and it resulted into a tiff. The Superintendent also asked the cop to leave him but the cops refused and said that as per orders no outsider will be allowed during exam time.
The cop was then severely beaten up by Tanveer and others staff members on exam duty. The two other cops on duty also rushed there and objected to the act of the exam staff. They brought the matter to the notice of SHO Gursai who merely assured to look into the matter. Observing cold response of the SHO, the injured cop then moved to the court and sought directions from the judge to lodge and FIR.
With the intervention of court, an FIR No. 12/2014 under Section 353/332/ 328/506 RPC was lodged against Tanveer Ahmed, Exam Suptd Mohd Rashid, Master Mohd Rafeed Khan and another staff member Riyayat Ullah Khan. No arrest has been reported in this connection till this evening. The cops on duty alleged that staff of the school was indulging in mass copying and Suprintendent himself was part of game. They objected to the stickness of the cops on duty and resorted to attack.
