DODA, June 3: Firdous Cricket Club Doda and Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah registered victories over their rivals in the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, in the first match, Firdous Cricket Club outplayed Combine Cricket Club Ramban by 7 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Firdous Cricket Club Doda made 118 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Owais Shah scored 26 runs, while Haroon made 20 runs. For Combine Cricket Club Ramban , Mansur and Shanwaz took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Combine Cricket Club Ramban managed to score 111 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 7 runs. Bilal Mujhaid made 37 runs while Aamir contributed 28 runs to the total. For Firdous Cricket Club, Nasir and Sachin took 5 and 1 wicket respectively. Nasir was declared as man of the match for his best bowling performance.
In another match played today, Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah defeated DSC Cricket Club Doda. Batting first, Masood Cricket Club scored 153 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Moshin Nazar scored 91 runs while Rajid added 17 runs. For DSC Cricket Club Doda, Farooq and Afraz took 2 wickets each.
In reply, DSC Cricket Club Doda made 148 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by a narrow margin of 5 runs. Balvinder was the top scorer with 62 runs, followed by Sapan who added 24 runs to the total. For Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah, Rashid and Khalid took 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Moshin was declared as man of the match for superb batting performance. The award was presented to him by Frank, senior reporter Rajya Sabha Delhi.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as scorer.
