SRINAGAR, Feb 21:

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is vacationing in Kashmir, turned nostalgic, saying that he got his first bat from his sister which was a Kashmir willow bat.
On Saturday last, Tendulkar, accompanied by his wife Anjali and daughter Sara, stopped at Chursoo in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, to inspect Kashmiri bats at a manufacturing unit.
In a post on X Tendulkar said, “The first bat given to me was by my sister and it was a Kashmir willow bat. Ab main yahan hoon to Kashmir willow ko to milna banta hai!” “Some of my favourite bats had only about 5-6 grains. How many grains do your bats have,” he asked.
The God of Cricket’s recent visit to the bat maker unit has offered fresh hope to Kashmir’s famed willow industry.
Tendulkar also spent three days in the ski resort of Gulmarg where he also drove a snow bike for sometime. The Cricket legend also travelled to Kaman post at the Line of Control in Uri sector of Baramulla district, officials said. (UNI)
