First ever Khadi Exhibition getting great response

LEH, Sept 17: Ten-day long Khadi Exhibition being organized by Khadi and Village Industries Board in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Government of India at Indoor Stadium, Polo Ground here is going on in full swing and having great response from the people.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dorjay, Executive Councilor, Leh, while Vinay Kumar, State Director, KVIC, Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffar Hussain Allaqband, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, KVIB, Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Incharge Kashmir Region KVIC, officers and officials of KVIC, KVIB, DIC, civil administration and police were also present.
KVIC has started special drive for ST and SC candidates under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme. During the drive ST and SC candidates will be provided employment under PMEGP with a Government Subsidy of 35 per cent. In this connection Dr Hina Shafi Bhat, Member (NZ), KVIC kick started the drive and hoped many people of Leh will take advantage of the flagship programme PMEGP. Dr Hina assured all cooperation from KVIC side. She said that for the welfare of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government has increased the targets under PMEGP which will be a great boast.
Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, KVIC and Nodal Officer of PMEGP, Jammu and Kashmir briefed Member about the progress of PMEGP at Leh.  Anil informed that the KVIC has installed one help desk at the exhibition venue during which information regarding PMEGP was given to the people of Ladakh region.
During the exhibition, around 25 stalls of PMEGP and 15 stalls of Khadi Institutions have been installed. KVIC has also installed two stalls of PMTC, Pampore. The venue has been decorated by a beautifully designed “Theme Pavillion” created by Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Incharge Kashmir Region, KVIC.
