First meeting of Day Care Centre of Sr citizens held

JAMMU, Oct 21: After the inauguration of Ahata-E-Waqar-a Day Care and Reception Centre for Senior Citizens at Lower Roop Nagar, setup by the J&K Legal Service Authority in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, the first meeting of senior citizens was held.
All the members attended the meeting and discussed the sanitation of the building and demanded engagement of a part-time Safai Karamchari.
Strategy was also chalked out for further expansion and development of the Centre with the objective to provide all basic facilities to the needy senior citizens for their good health and care.
For the maintenance and welfare of the Centre, it was decided that some members shall pursue the issue with concerned authorities at regular intervals.
Kewal Krishan Wadhera, a member-cum-social activist also attended the meeting and talked about environment protection. He stressed upon for use of cloth handbags instead of poly-bags and distributed some cloth bags amongst the gathering.
