Five-day EDP for SMVD Shrine Board employees begins

KATRA, July 22: The five-day Executive Development Program (EDP) for SMVD Shrine Board employees on “Communication Skills for Effective Performance” started here today. The EDP has been organized by School of Business, SMVD University.
The workshop has been organized exclusively for the employees of SMVD Shrine Board in order to help them to be effective in communicating across the various layers of the organization as well as to communicate with empathy.
The inaugural session of the workshop was taken by Dr Ashutosh Vashishtha, Director School of Business. He discussed the importance of creating first impression for effective communication. On the first day various dimensions of effective listening, confidence for communication and team work were discussed by Dr Arti Devi, Dr Madumangal and Dr Jyoti Sharma.
Dr Saurabh, coordinator of the program briefed that the module of the workshop covers both personal conduct of the employees with their body language as well as oral and written communication. He said that the workshop shall help the participants to analyze the need of the audience and structure their thoughts to present them emphatically with correct information. The participants would receive tips on how to compose documents that get attention and prompt action.
During the workshop various experts would deliver upon various topics such as day-to-day office communication, NLP in workplace communication, incorporating emotional intelligence, verbal and non-verbal communication, grammatical effectiveness in official communication, transaction analysis, communication with positive impact, confidence building for effective communication, effective listening and conducting self in team.
Dr Saurabh said that the workshop will be a first step in the direction of symbiotic learning experience for the effective performance delivery of the participants.
