JAMMU, Aug 28: A protest demonstration of Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) was held today in the office complex of Directorate of Health Services, Jammu wherein they threatened to go on indefinite strike if the permanent solution of salary head 2211 is not done by the Government.

The protestors were led by Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHW Welfare Association and Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF). The protesting employees raised anti Government slogans and said that until a permanent solution of salary of 2211 head is not done by the Government they will not participate in the MR Vaccine and will continue their protest dharna.
The others demands raised by the employees include delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 yrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelam Kumari demanded intervention of the Government for permanent solution of salary head 2211, failing which, she said FMPHWs of Jammu province were left with no option except converting their protest into indefinite strike.
