JAMMU, July 8: The FMPHWs working under 2211-Family Welfare who are without salary for the last 16-18 months today staged dharnas in all district headquarters of the State.
At Jammu, the dharna was staged at Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park, Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Jammu under the leadership of Babli Sharma and Neelam Kumari, president and secretary general, Jammu Kashmir FMPHWs Association, respectively and Sushil Sudan, president JKMEF. The dharna was attended by FMPHWs from district Jammu and Samba.
The protesting employees shouted slogans in support of their demands. “We are facing immense financial problems and are living the life of penury, as despite repeated requests made to the Director, Family Welfare, J&K, for releasing our salaries, nothing has been done except giving assurances”, they added.
Similar protest dharnas were held at all district headquarters. At Kathua the dharna was held under the leadership of Surinder Kumnar, Narinder Tony, Joginder Kumar and Sharda Kumari, at Poonch under the leadership of Balbir Singh, Amrik Singh and Harbans Kour, at Rajouri- Mohd Farooq Mirza, Farida Begum, Adrash Kumar, at Kishtwar- Mansoor Hussian, Ajit Kumar, Javed, Salma Parveen, at Doda- Mehboob Kripak, Amjad Ali, Naseem Akhtar, Halima Begum, Rita Devi, Babli Devi, Fayzan Tramboo, at Ramban-Moh Akhter, Mohd Irshad, Naseem, at Reasi- Ab Hamid Butt, Banu Sharma, Sushma Devi, at Udhampur- Sham Prashar, Mahima Devi, Ashwani Khajuria, Nancy Bhan, Dheeraj Sharma and Urmil.
In the meantime, the FMPHWs decided to hold next massive dharna in all the districts in Jammu Division on July 16. Besides, FMPHWs, the leaders from JKMEF who participated in dharna at Jammu include Vinod Kumar Sharma, Yougal Bakshi, Kamaljeet Sawhney, Jarnail Choudhary, CL Koul, Mohd Saleem, Suresh Gupta, Sandeep Kumar and Kulraj. They urged the authorities to fulfill the demands of the FMPHWs at an earliest.
