JAMMU, Oct 24: Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) took out a protest rally to Governor House this morning and suspended their scheduled programme of ‘Srinagar Challo’ on the assurance of the higher ups in Health Department.
As per Srinagar Challo call of the JKMEF/FMPHWs’ Association, a large number of Female Multi Purpose Health Workers this morning arrived at office complex of Directorate of Health Services, Jammu in 5 buses and 10 tempos from Samba, Kathua, and Jammu. The FMPHWs of districts Udhampur, Ramban and Doda were likely to join the Srinagar Challo rally from their respective places.

The FMPHWs from DHS marched towards Governor House at Panjtirthi accompanied by JKMEF president, Sushil Sudan, secretary general, Vinod Sharma and Neelam Kumari (president, FMPHWA, Jammu province), besides Jatinder Singh, Chodhary Aslam (president, Lab Tech Association), Kuldeep Dabgotra (district president, Samba) and all other federation leaders from all the districts of Jammu province.
After reaching at Governor House, the JKMEF president received a call from Director Family Welfare Jammu who conveyed the message of commissioner Health & Divisional Commissioner Jammu that they will arrange a meeting with the Advisor to Governor on 26-10-2018 to address the demands of FMPHWs for which they are protesting since two months.
After getting the assurance the federation leaders and the FMPHWs leaders decided to suspend Srinagar Challo programme. They returned to Directorate Health Services complex and continued their ongoing dharna for their demands which include permanent solution of salary head 2211, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, etc.
