JAMMU, Mar 7: Federation of Industries, Jammu projected the burning issues of the industrialists with the Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, here today.
The Federation delegation led by Annil Suri, its chairman besides other members met the Principal Secretary, Mr Ganai and discussed with him various issues related to industrial sector. During the interaction with the Principal Secretary, Mr Suri highlighted the problems being faced by the industrial sector which included non-release of pending amount of Rs 47 crore on account of VAT refund through SICOP & introduction of cash less entry with effect from April 1, 2014, modification in the process of annual assessment of raw material/ finished goods for all Toll Tax exemption, formulation of guidelines in respect of 55:45 labour issue, creation of new industrial estates, improvement in single window system, industrial power infrastructure, common effluent treatment plant and the working of DICs such as delegation of powers to General Managers of DICs as per Government order, creation of DICs own website, shortage of technical staff, time bound clearance of files, export obligation incentives for existing export oriented units etc.
Mr Suri also requested Mr Ganai to start interaction with the stake holders for the information of various guidelines for better implementation of existing package of incentives and further devising new industrial policy of the State. Mr Ganai gave patient hearing and assured to address their issues after taking up with the concerned quarters.
