Follow path shown by Dhanwantri: Bhalla

JAMMU, Nov 2: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today stressed upon the medical and para-medical faculties to the follow the path shown by Lord Dhanwantri and serve the ailing humanity selflessly with the spirit of dedication.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing All India Ayurvedic Congress organized in connection with celebration of Dhanwantri Jayanti at Jammu Club, here today.
The function commenced with Dhanwantri Vandana followed by ceremonial illumination of the traditional lamp by chief guest.
Large number of Ayurvedic professionals besides luminaries from civil society attended the function.
Mr. Bhalla asked the Ayurvedic professionals to follow professional expertise of Dhanwantri. He appreciated the contribution of Ayush doctors who are providing necessary healthcare in most remote corners of the State under most difficult conditions. He stressed the need for following ancient glorious traditions regarding diet and life style. He assured that State Government is keen to utilize vast potential of traditional systems and Ayush doctors.
The Minister further said that Dhanwantri Trayodashi is observed two days before Diwali Puja. He said the day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanwantri, the teacher and the father of Ayurveda. He said Lord Dhanwantri is the physician of Gods and considered one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He said the day of Dhanwantri Trayodashi is also known as Dhanwantri Jayanti.
Among others who spoke on the Dhanwatri Jayanti, Dr H N Patwari, Dr. R. C Nagar, Dr. C R Mundey, Er. Vikram Gour and paid rich tributes to Dhanwantri, progenitor of Ayurveda.
