JAMMU, Feb 8: All Jammu and Kashmir Forestry Graduates and DDR (AJKFG & DDR) Association has demanded formulation of Rehabar-e-Janglat on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem and Rehbar-e-Zirat for the absorption of hundreds of forest graduates and post graduates in the department who are hankering for jobs for years together.
“We will march New Delhi to lodge a strong protest in case the State Government failed to provide justice to us and announce the formulation of Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme on the pattern of ReT and ReZ as assured by then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and others earlier”, said Tariq Bakshi president of Jammu and Kashmir Forest Graduates and DDR Association while talking to reporters here today.
He said in 2004 Government advertised the posts in Forest Department through SSB in which 30 points were given to class 12 pass outs, 25 points for B.Sc. forestry/DDR pass outs, 10 points of M.Sc. Pass outs.
But in 2006 advertisements, the same criteria was not followed and points for students who have professional degree in forestry/DDR were decreased while points for 12th pass outs were increased which is a sheer injustice with professional degree holders, he added.
He said the deduction of points for forest graduates continued in 2008 and in addition to this the PhD degree in forestry was excluded from the criteria.
Bakshi said in 2010, the criteria were changed further and points for forestry graduates/DDR were decreased again.
The Association alleged that when the candidates were called for fitness test, they were asked to appear in the written test, which was not mentioned in the advertisements issued in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. Moreover the syllabus issued by SSB doesn’t cover forestry syllabus, he added.
He said fed up with Government attitude the Association has threatened to hold protest at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi and meet Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi if the State Government fails to deliver on their promises within 10 days.
