Sir,
I want to draw the attention of public, law abiding citizens and the Government towards about 15 lakh kanals of Government land that has been grabbed by the influential persons including politicians, land mafias in whole of the State. Out of the land, 80 percent is forest land.
Major chunk of this land is from Jammu region. This fact has been endorsed by this paper also.
It is a sorry state of affairs that our previous Governments surrendered before these powerful mafias. It is learnt that some honest and bold officials have taken an initiative to highlight this scandal so that the corrupt and criminals may be penalised but these officers are being harassed.
If the Government is really interested in the policies for the welfare of public and environment, it should come forward with an iron hand to save the green wealth from the greedy giants.
