JAMMU, Apr 15: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh honoured Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal-an Indian Army officer from Jammu for scaling Mount Everest three times, here today.
He is a veteran of more than 45 mountaineering expeditions and won two Asian records and three Indian records in mountaineering expeditions.
In this regard, an impressive felicitation ceremony was organized at Press Club Jammu by former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and felicitated him for his outstanding achievements.
While talking to media persons during the function, Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal said that he recently completed six countries cycling expeditions which started from Vietnam and completed at Singapore by passing through the four other countries including Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia by covering the distance of around 5,374 kilometers.
“Before this expedition, he along with four cyclists, led by him had completed the 1100 kilometers cycling expedition of ‘Seven Sister States’ of North East and become the first team who paddled the Seven Sisters States for the first time in December last year,” Col. Ranveer said.
Encouraging the young generation during his talk, he said that everyone can achieve the target but the only mantra is, he/she should be focused towards their goal and should stay away from the distraction and bad things.
