Former Indian Blind Cricket team captain demands government job to Blind cricketers

BELAGAVI: Former Indian Blind Cricket team Captain and Padmashree awardee Shekhar Naik demanded government jobs to blind cricketers. Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday he said that the team has won Two World Cups including one Twenty20 and ODI.
He said that there is no sufficient scope for blind cricket in India. There are many facilities given in other countries to the Blind cricketers. Kerala State is giving Government jobs but in Karnataka it is not there. Replying to a question, he said that “I am thinking to set up Blind Cricket Academy, I hope this is help to blind cricketers.
I tried for the government job many times but did not get and now I am working in a private company for livelihood”. He said that in 2002 itself BCCI and ICC has been asked to give affiliation, but till date no positive response. (AGENCIES)
