KISHTWAR, Dec 2: Fransher Nail Cricket Club stunned Rising Star Cricket Club, Bhalesa by 10 wickets in the finals and lifted the title trophy of the T-20 Cricket Tournament organized by Indian Youth Congress, Inderwal at Nali Bunjwah.
Earlier, Rising Star won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 74 runs in the allotted 20 overs, whereas Fransher Nali Cricket Club chased the target in just 7 overs, without any loss.
Mohd Asgar Hussain of Fransher Nali Cricket Club was declared as man of the match, whereas, Imtiyaz Batak was adjudged as man of the series.
On the valedictory function, senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohd Saroori was the chief guest, who awarded Rs 10,000 to winning team and Rs 8,000 to runner-up team. Medals and trophies were also distributed among the players of the participating teams.
While speaking, Saroori exhorted upon youth to remain focused on constructive activities and desist from social evils, drug addiction and anti-national activities. He also highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship and encouraged the youth to participate in the sports activities, to keep their body mentally and physically fit.
He said that by organizing such tournaments, the talented youths of this hilly district will get an opportunity to show his talent at highest level. He also announced Rs 11,000 to the final two teams and also announced cricket stadium for the area.
Among others present were IYC president Inderwal Mohd Latief Mughal, IYC president Bunjwah Yog Raj, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Khalid Hussain Sheikh, Farooq Ahmed Want, Choudhary Mohd Shafi, Haroon Ayoob, Irshad Ahmed, local populace and sports lovers.
