Free eye surgeries conducted at Vivekananda Charitable Hospital

JAMMU, Mar 17: We Care Welfare Society (WCWS) here today organised a free eye and cataract surgery camp at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ved Mandir, Amphalla.
Patients of Kotmaira and surrounding villages of Khour block were screened for cataract and other eye problems during the camp on February 23. These patients were invited one day in advance, for making necessary tests required for the surgery wherein free lodging and boarding was arranged by the organisers.
All the patients which required surgery were operated upon and medicines and spectacles were provided to them free of cost for proper post-operative care.
Dr Debapriya Chatterjee along with Dr Bijander Kour, Ophthalmologists performed surgeries.
Prof. M Sadiq Nargal, Chairman WCWS thanked hospital administration, paramedical and other supporting staff for the successful camp.
WCWS President Dr R.K Gupta, General Secretary, Rajinder Gupta, Organising cum Information Secretary Vaibhav Sharma, Executive Members J.S Manhas, Ravinder Kumar, Subash Jandyal, Shyam Jandyal, Harish Gupta and others also participated in the programme and extended all sorts of help to the patients.
