JAMMU, Mar 19: A Free Fibroscan camp was today held by Mahajan Sabha Channi Himmat, near Railway Crossing.
The camp was held under the leadership of Vipan Gupta, president of Mahajan Sabha Channi Himmat in association with Dr Rajesh Gupta, General Physician.
Special Invitee Neena Gupta (Corporator, Ward Number 50, Channi Himmat) was present on this occasion. Ashok Jandyal (chairman), Raj Kumar Gupta (senior vice president), Mohan Lal Gupta and Kushvinder Gupta (vice presidents), Ashok Gupta (general secretary), Dalip Gupta (secretary), Advocate Ishant Gupta (publicity secretary) and Vishavdeep Gupta (cashier) were the office bearers of Mahajan Sabha Channi Himmat who were present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipan Gupta said that Mahajan Sabha Channi Himmat said that today Sabha has organized a free medical camp in which the people get the benefit to diagnose their liver and other related diseases by the latest use of technology known as “Fibroscan”. He said that this type of scan costs between Rs 4000 to Rs 5000 in private but today here in this camp, the services are being provided to people ‘free of cost’.
Dr Rajesh Gupta said that Fibroscan is a type of Liver Special Ultrasound Technology that measures liver stiffness and fatty changes in the liver and can predict the outcome of liver diseases. He said these measurements can help healthcare providers learn more about the patient’s liver disease.
During the camp, as many as 152 patients were screened for liver diseases as part of Fibroscan in which they were detected to whether they have severe liver disease, liver cirrhosis, fibrosis, fatty liver disease or normal.
