This refers to news item “Planning Commission data a conspiracy to deprive poor” DE July 25.
Planning Commission report says out of total population of India in 2004-05, 37.2 percent where poor. Due to good work done by Congress Govt. percentage of poor fell to 21.9 in 2011-12.
By an ordinance Congress Govt has started a scheme to provide free ration to 65 percent of India’s population. Why Congress wants to provide free ration to 65 percent of population when there are less than 21.9 percent poor? It is not difficult to answer this question. Congress is planning to spend huge amount of money belonging to public treasury. This has been done keeping in view the coming elections. What is this, if it is not cheating tax payers?
If Congress party is honest, then free ration should be supplied to only 21.9 percent of population or to 100 percent of population.
