Freight rates fall on heavy position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Sept 8: Freight rates for ten metric tonne load for select destinations declined by Rs 1000 in the local truck transport market today following large position of trucks as compared to cargo movements.
Transporters said Delhi to Chandigarh and Baroda rates slipped by Rs.1000 each to Rs.13,000 and Rs.21,000.
Rates to Patana and Surat also moved down by Rs.1000 each to Rs.24,000 and Rs.23,000.
Elsewhere other destinations freight maintained overnight levels on some support.
