Freight rates improve on tight availability of trucks

NEW DELHI, July 6:  Freight rates for nine tonne load hardened up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market here today following less availability of trucks.
Transporters said busy cargo movements and less position of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates.
Delhi to Indore, Jaipur and Kanpur rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 17,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively.
Rates to Hyderabad, Vijaywada and Chandigarh also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 54,000, Rs 56,000 and Rs 18,000, respectively.
