NEW DELHI, May 6: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section went up by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following shortage of trucks against pick up in cargo movements.
Transporters said increased cargo movements against tight availability of trucks in the market, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Puducherry freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 57,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000.
Rates to Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa and Kolkata also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 64,000, Rs 66,000, Rs 58,000 and Rs 33,000, respectively.
