JAMMU, Mar 14: Friends Cricket Club Bhalwal defeated Jaidev Cricket Club Kot by a margin of 64 runs to advance in the ongoing 1st Drug Free Youth Gharota T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy at the Academy grounds at Gharota, here.
Batting first, Friends Club scored a decent total of 177 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Chottu top scored with 68 runs, while Narinder contributed 43 runs to the total. Rinku and Avinash chipped in with 24 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For Jaidev Club, Balram, Lucky and Bucki took one wicket each.
In reply, Jaidev Club managed to score 113 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 64 runs. Ashu top scored with 44 runs, while Rakesh and Dheeraj contributed 17 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Kapil and Sangram took 2 wickets each for Friends Club, while Jatinder, Sahil and Jonu shared one wicket apiece. Chottu of Friends Club was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Director Country Cricket Academy, Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy cricketer.
