AKHNOOR, Dec 24: Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor drubbed Adarsh Cricket Club Akhnoor by a huge margin of 90 runs in the ongoing Christmas T20 Cricket Cup at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here today.
Batting first, Friends Club scored a mammoth total of 172 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Jaipal Singh was the top scorer with 57 runs, while Rajeev and Rohit Sharma contributed 40 and 27 runs to the total respectively. For Adarsh Club, Ashok Sharma was pick of the bowlers who claimed 3 important wickets, while Sunny Sharma and Arush took 2 wickets each. Anil also claimed one wicket.
In reply, Adarsh Club collapsed at 82 runs in 16.4 overs. Arun Sharma (14) and Deepak Sharma (12) were the only two batsmen to cross double figure mark. Arun Dev Singh was the wrecker-in-chief for Friends Club, who bowled with nagging line and teasing length and captured 3 important wickets, while Parveen claimed two and Jaipal one.
