JAMMU, Oct 12: President J&K Pensioners Welfare Association, Jagdev Singh Baloreia has urged the State Government for issuing of SRO in respect of pre-2006 pensioners who have rendered less than 33 years of service.
Now as per the Supreme Court verdict and also in view of the J&K Government’s recent decision with regard to pre-2006 IAS pensioners, such decision must be issued by the State Government for pre-2006 Pensioners as well, Baloreia said in a statement, issued here today.
Referring to the Supreme Court judgment of April 2016, Baloreia said that the qualifying service for entitlement to full pension was rationalized and ordered that full pension must be granted to all pensioner irrespective to their qualifying service. This Apex Court judgment must be honored at the earliest by BJP-PDP coalition Government and issue orders for releasing full pension to all the pre-2006 State pensioners as has been done in case of IAS cadre working in J&K State, he added.
Regarding financial implications of the State Government, J S Josh, Secretary of the Pensioners Welfare Association, pointed out that when such order can be implemented for IAS cadre and monetary benefit to all Legislators can be enhanced, then why this justice was being denied to State pensioners.
He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister, Haseeb Drabu to immediately intervene in the matter and restore justice to all pre- 2006 State pensioners.
