JAMMU, Jan 10: District Development Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh has directed the Block Development Officers (BDOs) of all the border blocks to immediately identify the developmental works, which were taken up in border areas under different schemes but could not be completed for want of funds.
The directive was issued in a meeting of the BDOs and Sectoral Officers convened by the District Development Commissioner as a part of exercise to formulate Annual Action Plan under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) scheme of the Union Government. Among others, the meeting was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta.
Expressing concern over numerous works remaining incomplete in different border areas for want of funds thereby depriving their benefit to the people, Simrandeep Singh directed the BDOs to immediately prepare an inventory of all such works after assessing the ground situation. Even the sectoral officers were directed to extend full cooperation to the BDOs in this task.
“The objective behind this exercise is to ensure that all such incomplete works are projected in the BADP plan for the next financial year and their completion is ensured for the benefit of people of border areas”, the DC told the officers, adding enough focus has already been laid on taking up of BADP works in convergence with other schemes for ensuring their timely completion.
