JAMMU, Oct 20: GD Goenka Public School organized a very impressive Diwali Mela with lots of exuberance and zest, here today.
Rahul Bansal, Chairman of the school alongwith Sanya Bansal, the Director inaugurated the much-awaited Diwali Mela by cutting the ribbon and opening the doors of festivity amidst loud cheers from the students, staff, parents and visitors, thus making the ambience surround sound with message of brotherhood and fraternity.
The Mela with different shades of the festival of light hosted myriads of stalls showcasing variety of products for all age groups. Special attractions of the Mela were crowd engaging events, like, Tambola rounds, Magic show, Pottery, exclusive kids’ zone with fun-filled games where the most rush was found with the beaming children enjoying every second and the parents were found occupied with the mouth watering, tummy-says-yummy stalls.
Gifting and home decorative unique pieces were put on sale. Hand-made paper gift bags, paper cards and terracotta products, arty diya stalls, fancy hanging lamps, clothes, ornaments, home decor, Feng Shui items, dry flowers were much appreciated by the thronging multitude.
There were stalls with vendors selling everything from food to home decor as well as Raffle draw contest and prizes etc. It was wonderful to see everyone looking bright and colourful in traditional Indian clothes.
The Mela with all its fervour of festivities had all the elements not only for the employees, students but also for their family, children and other invitees.
Rahul Bansal alongwith the Director Ms Sanya Bansal, Principal Rajesh Rathore and all the Coordinators conducted the highly awaited Raffle draw, the star attraction. Students from the primary school were invited on the elevated stage and asked to pick out tickets from the well shuffled Raffle ticket box. First prize (LED Smart TV) was clinched by Kavita Sharma, Second Prize (Washing Machine) was bagged by Arnav Gupta, whereas the Third prize (an Aqua guard) was won by Surinder Kumar. Besides these, 12 more prizes were given away to the lucky winners.
Finally, Mr Rathore presented the vote of thanks.
